England brings former Wallaby Glen Ella into coaching staff
LONDON (AP) England rugby coach Eddie Jones has tapped into his Australian connections by bringing former Wallaby Glen Ella onto his staff for the team's three-test tour of Australia in June.
Ella has been hired on a temporary basis and will work as a skills coach, responsible for developing England's attacking play.
Ella played club rugby with Jones at Sydney-based Randwick, and was assistant coach for Australia under Jones at the 2003 Rugby World Cup. He played four games for Australia from 1982-85.
Jones said on Thursday that Ella ''brings with him a wealth of experience, but also has one of the best attacking minds in the business.''
Jones hired former Australia flanker George Smith as a breakdown consultant during the Six Nations, which England won.
