England 102-3 against India at lunch
RAJKOT, India (AP) England lost three wickets for 55 runs to go to lunch on 102 for three on the first day of the opening cricket test against India on Wednesday.
England made a bright start with captain Alastair Cook and teenage debutant Haseeb Hameed putting on 47 for the first wicket after both survived dropped catches from India's fielders.
Cook, dropped before he was off the mark, ran out of luck after the drinks break when he was on 21 and he was trapped leg before wicket by Ravindra Jadeja.
Just 19, Hammed hit six boundaries on his way to 31 before he fell lbw to Ravi Ashwin.
Ashwin captured his second wicket on the last delivery before lunch when Ben Duckett departed for 13, caught by a diving Ajinkya Rahane at slip, leaving Joe Root unbeaten on 35.
