Eldaafer storms to win in Breeder' Cup Marathon

Eldaafer kicked off the Breeders' Cup with a victory in the $500,000 Marathon, though the real action took place after the horses hit the wire.

Three-time Kentucky Derby-winning jockey Calvin Borel and Javier Castellano exchanged punches moments after the race, following a mid-race incident in which Castellano's horse Prince Will I Am ran into the path of Romp and Martin Garcia.

Garcia was able to stay on top of his horse but also impeded Borel and A.U. Miner.

An enraged Borel had to be restrained by security personnel and his older brother Cecil.

The fight overshadowed the victory by Eldaafer and jockey John Velazquez, who handed trainer Diane Alvarado her first Breeders' Cup victory. Eldaafer paid $23.20, $12 and $7.
