BALTIMORE (AP) -- The Baltimore Ravens have placed injured running back Ray Rice on their inactive list for their game against the Houston Texans.

Rice strained his left hip flexor last week against Cleveland. Bernard Pierce is expected to start for Baltimore against the undefeated Texans on Sunday.

Baltimore's inactive list includes defensive lineman Chris Canty, who has a thigh injury, and linebacker Arthur Brown, who's out with a chest injury.

Ed Reed, who played safety for the Ravens for 11 years, is expected to make his debut with Houston. Reed was on the Texans' inactive list in each of the first two weeks with a sore hip.

Houston's inactive list includes tackle Duane Brown, who has a toe injury. Ryan Harris will start in his place.
