ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- The Anaheim Ducks sent veteran goalie Ray Emery back to Syracuse on Saturday and recalled goalie J.P. Levasseur from the AHL team.
Emery hasn't played for the Ducks since signing with the club on Feb. 7 and getting recalled to Anaheim on Feb. 23. The former Ottawa and Philadelphia netminder went 2-1-0 with Syracuse before his recall.
With Dan Ellis playing well for the Ducks in place of injured All-Star Jonas Hiller, the Ducks want Emery to get some playing time in the minors. Ellis has excelled since arriving in a trade with Tampa Bay last month, going 3-0-1 with a .918 save percentage.
Hiller has finished just one game since the All-Star break while dealing with a case of vertigo.
