Despite 16 points and six assists from Suns guard Goran Dragic, host Slovenia lost to France 72-62 in Wednesday’s quarterfinal round of the Eurobasket tournament.

San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker scored 27 points for France.

Unable to generate easy transition baskets despite repeated efforts to push the pace, Dragic and his Slovenian teammates converted just 40 percent of their shots from the field. Dragic, who had four turnovers, was 6 of 16, including a 1-of-6 performance from 3-point range.

Before returning to Phoenix for the start of training camp, Dragic is scheduled to lead Slovenia into consolation-round game against Serbia.
