DraftKings MLB Picks: Top Bargain plays for September 27th
Finding value is the ever so elusive, “Holy Grail” in Fantasy Baseball. Making cap room for pitchers and big bats can make all the difference in a lineup. With a little elbow grease in the research department, I’m hoping to offer a handful of players that could give critical salary relief for tonight’s DraftKings MLB picks.
Tonight’s slate features 15 games, with a few teams projected to score five or more runs. Texas has the best projection, at 5.5 runs. The next highest team total belongs to St. Louis (5.2), Detroit (5.1), and Boston (5). Again, Texas is the most under priced team on DraftKings, but could have inflated ownership, given their projected team total. There are a number of high-priced pitching options tonight, so here a few bargain players to consider when entering your lineups.

Andrew Benintendi – BOS (OF) – $3000
Andrew Benintendi is my favorite bargain play on the slate as he’s only $3000 and draws an enticing match up against the righty, Luis Cessa. Benintendi continues to mash righties, where he holds a .431 wOBA and a .262 ISO split. Boston’s projected team total of 5 runs should also help provide a nice floor for Benintendi.
T.J. Rivera – NYM (2B/3B) – $2900
T.J. Rivera has been fairly consistent for the Mets and has proven his ability to get on base. Rivera holds reverse splits and will face a righty tonight, where he currently holds a .400 wOBA and a .222 ISO split. We’ll be looking for Rivera to bat somewhere in the top 6 of the lineup.

Carlos Sanchez – CWS (2B) – $2700
Carlos Sanchez is extremely cheap on DraftKings, at only $2700. While he hasn’t played much this season, he has hit very well of late. In his past three appearances, he’s collect 6 hits, 1 home run, and 5 RBI’s. This isn’t a large enough sample size to receive a ringing endorsement, but you could consider Sanchez as a cheap flyer.
Stephen Drew – WSH (2B/SS) – $3500
I was all over Stephen Drew last night and he delivered, with a double, a walk, and two runs scored. I’ll be on him again tonight, as he’ll be facing another righty, Matt Koch. Drew fares much better against righties, with a .380 wOBA and a .276 ISO split.
Johnny Peralta – STL (3B) – $3100
If you’re looking to get some exposure to the Cards tonight (projected to score 5.2 runs), I’d consider Johnny Peralta as a cheaper option. Peralta has reverse splits where he holds a .323 wOBA split. Peralta will be of value if he’s batting in one of the top five spots in the order.
Note: Keep in mind that recommended DraftKings MLB picks are based off of early information and will be subject to change as lineups are released. Some cheaper players are more suspect to be scratched from the lineup or bumped down the lineup order.
