Dong Hyun Kim vs. John Hathaway headlines TUF China Finale in March
The first ever Ultimate Fighter from China will culminate in a finale on March 1 from Macau with welterweights Dong Hyun Kim and John Hathaway squaring off in the main event.
The UFC announced the fight during a live Q&A with fans just before the weigh-ins for this weekend's UFC Fight Night in Singapore early Friday morning.
The fight card for the TUF China Finale will air exclusively on the new UFC Fight Pass online digital network.
Dong Hyun Kim (18-2-1 1 NC) returns to action on a three-fight winning streak and arguably the best performance of his career from his last bout in October. It was there that Kim traveled all the way to Brazil to face lightning-fast striker Erick Silva, but he quickly turned the tables and ended up winning the fight by knockout.
The finish earned Kim the 'Knockout Of The Night', his first bonus in the UFC.
With a similar three-fight win streak, John Hathaway (17-1) will look to make the most out of his 2014 after a disappointing 2013 where he was unable to get in a single fight during the year. Hathaway dealt with injuries that sidelined him for all of 2013, but now he hopes to get back on track starting with Kim in March.
Hathaway -- at just 26 years of age -- is still considered one of the top prospects at 170 pounds and with only one loss inside the Octagon he's got a chance to make a big move in the division starting with the fight against Kim in March.
More fights for the Ultimate Fighter China finale are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
