ATLANTA — The Atlanta Dream are on the brink of bringing their first WNBA championship to Atlanta ... and Gwinnett County.

The team has confirmed a report from The Gwinnett Daily Post that the WNBA Finals will relocate from Philips Arena to Gwinnett Center arena because of a scheduling conflict with "Disney on Ice," the long-running ice show featuring figure skaters and Disney characters.

The WNBA Finals open in Minneapolis on Sunday (Oct. 6) and next Tuesday (Oct. 8). After that, the best-of-five championship series shifts to Gwinnett. The Dream host the Lynx for Games 3 (Oct. 10) and 4 (Oct. 13).

Game 5, if necessary, would take place Oct. 16 in Minneapolis.

During the regular season, the Dream and Lynx claimed one victory apiece, with each club winning on their own home court.
