Diggs' basket lifts Akron over Bowling Green 65-63

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) -- Quincy Diggs hit a game-winning long-range jumper with 2.3 seconds left as Akron hung on to beat Bowling Green 65-63 on Sunday.

Bowling Green's Jehvon Clarke had tied the game with 9.9 seconds remaining after he banked in a 3-pointer from straight away.

Diggs finished with 14 points for Akron (16-7, 8-2 Mid-American Conference) and Demetrius Treadwell added 12 and 10 rebounds. It was Treadwell's seventh double-double in his last eight games.

Treadwell missed the front end of a 1-and-1 with 30 seconds left, setting up Clarke's tying basket.

Clarke made it a one-possession game with 6:38 left at 53-50, in a game that Bowling Green never led.

Clarke led Bowling Green (10-13, 4-6) with 19 points.

Diggs scored six straight points to give Akron its largest lead of the first half at 35-21, but Bowling Green scored the final five points of the half to trail by nine.
