The Florida Gators offensively challenged season took an upturn Saturday with three first quarter touchdowns on the way to a 48-10 win over Appalachian State. It was the first time since September that Florida scored more than once in the opening 15 minutes of play and the only time all season the Gators managed to score three times before the start of the second period.

Truth be told Appalachian State, while a powerhouse in the classification previously known at 1-AA was overmatched Saturday. Yes, the Mountaineers did beat Michigan in 2007, but that was arguably their best team ever. Appy State
