While the Vikings have not made a statement, it's clear that the team has cut ties with the outspoken punter. This move was almost expected when Minnesota spent a fifth-round pick on UCLA punter Jeff Locke in last month's NFL Draft. Which is strange Kluwe was coming off the best statistical season of his career. In 2012, he averaged 45 yards a punt with a 39.7-yard net average. Could it be the Vikings were just tired of Kluwe's off-the-field endeavors? He has been busy over the past year, speaking out on issues like marriage equality and gay rights. He even tried to stir up support to get punter Ray Guy elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Some Vikings team personnel said Kluwe was becoming tiresome. "Those distractions are getting old for me, to be quite honest with you,” special teams coordinator Mike Priefer said. Well, whatever the reason, Kluwe will be looking for a new home, even though he's scheduled to the grand marshal of the Twin Cities' PRIDE parade in June. Let's take a minute to look back and enjoy some of his recent tweets.
