Detroit knocks off Bowling Green 71-62

DETROIT (AP) -- Nick Minnerath scored 14 points to lead all five starters in double figures and Detroit defeated Bowling Green 71-62 on Saturday night.

Eli Holman had his fourth double-double of the season with 13 points and 14 rebounds as the Titans (3-3) won in the second round of the Legends Classic.

Detroit never trailed and led by double figures for most of the second half.

Bowling Green (1-5), which has lost four consecutive games, cut the lead to 56-47 on Mike Dabney's three-point play with 5:56 left, but the Titans scored the next five points to end the rally.

Detroit shot 55 percent from the field (11 of 20) in the second half.

Dee Brown scored a career-high 22 points for Bowling Green, which shot 14.3 percent from the 3-point line (1 of 7) in the second half.

Chase Simon and Ray McCallum scored 12 points each and Jason Calliste added 11 points for Detroit.
