DETROIT (AP) -- Erik Buggs scored as time ran out Friday night to boost Valparaiso to a 73-71 victory over Detroit.

Detroit's Chase Simon was called for charging Buggs with 4.6 seconds left. Buggs then took the inbounds pass about 65 feet from the basket and drove the length of the floor, laying it in as time expired.

Will Bogan's 23 points led the Crusaders (10-6, 3-1 Horizon League), who won their second in a row. Kevin Van Wijk scored 17 points, and Ryan Broekhoff had 14 points and seven rebounds.

Ray McCallum paced the Titans (7-10, 1-4) with 22 points, including 11 of 13 free throws. Eli Holman had 17 points and seven rebounds, and Jason Calliste scored 14.

With Detroit down 69-68, Holman converted a three-point play for a 71-69 Titans lead with 47 seconds left. Valparaiso's Jay Harris tied it with 26 seconds left, setting up the finish.
