NEW YORK (AP) -- Derrick Rose is sitting out the U.S. national's team exhibition game against the Dominican Republic on Wednesday night, with coach Mike Krzyzewski saying he wants to look at other guards.
Rose has sat out the last two practices as he works his way back into shape after sitting out most of the last two seasons, though there has been no indication from the Chicago Bulls star or U.S. officials that he is hurting. Rose said after Tuesday's practice he just wanted extra rest.
Rose started the Americans' exhibition game against Brazil on Saturday. The team still has 16 players on the roster and must get down to 12 before the Basketball World Cup.
