Dendy joins Miami Heat Summer League team
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Former Blue Raider LaRon Dendy is set to join the Summer League team for the back-to-back NBA champion Miami Heat.
This marks the second straight summer Dendy has been part of the NBA's Summer League. Last year, the 2012 Sun Belt Player of the Year was on the roster for the Washington Wizards. An All-American during his senior year at Middle Tennessee, Dendy began the 2012-13 campaign in Greece before finishing the year in Turkey. In the nine games with Turkey's Darussafaka, he scored double figures in every contest.
The Heat is conducting practice sessions beginning July 4 through July 6 in Miami, prior to heading to Orlando.
The Heat begins summer league play on Sunday, July 7 in Orlando, and will play five games over the six-day event, with a championship day being played on the final day of the league, July 12. The team will then head to Las Vegas, with the first game scheduled for Saturday, July 13. The team will play a tournament style schedule, with a champion being crowned on Monday, July 22. At a minimum, the team will play at least five games.
