FULL DAY OF RACE COVERAGE WILL BEGIN AT 12:30 PM
ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 17
SAN DIEGO –
FOX Sports San Diego (FSSD) will be providing a full day of race coverage on Opening
Day at Del Mar, Wednesday, July 17, beginning with an hour-long pre-race show at
12:30 PM PST.
Leading off FOX
Sports San Diego’s pre-race coverage will be an announcement and introduction
of the network’s newest FOX Sports San
Diego Girl. Beginning in May, fans were invited to submit video profiles
for the opportunity to join Katie and Nathalie as the next FOX Sports San Diego
Girl. The FSSD Girls are the network’s direct connection to the fans and
currently have over 20,000 social media followers.
The show continues
as FOX Sports horse racing analyst Kevin
Gorg and TVG Network’s Paul Lo Duca
take viewers through a lesson in Horse
Racing 101 followed by a tour of the track given by Padres legend and horse
racing enthusiast Mark Loretta. Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens and Padres players will be among the many celebrities and special guests making
on-air appearances throughout the day.
More than 45,000
race fans are expected to attend this year’s Opening Day and FSSD’s Laura
McKeeman and Megan Olivi will be reporting live from around the track,
giving viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the event that's defined as one of
the most fabulous, fashionable and fun festivities in the west.
