DBJ+ We have penguins, and we’re not afraid to use them: An NHL recruiting story

I recently wrote a piece congratulating the Columbus Blue Jackets brass for their success in landing Nathan Horton – the man at the top of their list – in the 2013 National Hockey League free agent frenzy, and those kudos were offered on two levels.  First, it was an strategic organizational win insofar that the team was able to get the one guy that they wanted most.  Beyond that, it also was a nuts and bolts process win for the recruiting effort used to sway Horton to seriously consider and then sign with the Blue Jackets.
More news has come out on the recruiting front, and I had to share.
Those who have been following the hunt for Horton know that his visit included tours of the facilities, area neighborhoods and a trip to the top-rated Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.  What we didn’t know were any of the details.
