Dayton's depth shines in win over Miami (OH)
DAYTON, Ohio (AP) -- Devin Oliver and Josh Benson turned in double-doubles and five Dayton players scored in double figures as the Flyers topped Miami (Ohio) 83-61 in the 130th meeting of the nonconference rivals Saturday night.
Oliver had 15 points, 10 rebounds and six assists while Benson had 13 points and 12 boards. Kevin Dillard (15 points), Vee Sanford (14) and Dyshawn Pierre (12) were the others in double figures.
Dayton leads the all-time rivalry 69-61. The Flyers are 7-2 for the third time in four years.
Miami (3-5) was led by Will Felder's 18 points, with Jon Harris also pitching in 16.
Dillard's layup put Dayton up 37-33 just before halftime, and then the Flyers used a 14-2 run early in the second half to take a 53-40 lead and strolled to victory from there.
Dayton shot 52.5 percent (31 of 59) from the floor and won the rebound battle 45-22.
