DAYTON, Ohio (AP) -- Kendall Pollard scored 16 off the bench and grabbed a game high nine rebounds to lead Dayton to a 73-64 victory over Eastern Michigan on Saturday afternoon.

Dyshawn Pierre added 15 points on a near perfect 6 of 7 shooting to go with four assists for Dayton. Jordan Sibert also finished with 15 points for the Flyers (6-1).

Dayton was strong defensively for much of the game, holding Eastern Michigan to 37 percent shooting from the field and 7 of 26 from 3-point land. The Flyers also held a decided edge in the rebounding battle, 42-29.

Raven Lee led Eastern Michigan with 26 points. Karrington Ward added 11 points for the Eagles (7-1), who trailed by just two at halftime. However, an 11-2 Dayton run to open the second half was enough to put the Eagles away.
