While awaiting their bowl assignment, Mississippi State players have the week off from all football duties except weightlifting and conditioning. Coach Dan Mullen will make two trips to statewide awards ceremonies this week, then he and the staff will be out on recruiting visits.
Mississippi State has tentatively scheduled the first bowl practice date for December 15.
Wide receiver Chad Bumphis suffered a cracked collarbone catching a 44 yard pass in the Egg Bowl, his only grab of the game but his team leading 44th of the season. Bumphis was have a x-ray on the shoulder and Monday evaluation on his chances of playing in the bowl game.
Left tackle Derek Sherrod was named the SEC
