Darrelle Revis will wear No. 24 after deal with Mark Barron
The debate over No. 24 is over.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Mark Barron allowed cornerback Darrelle Revis to take No. 24 on Friday, the number worn by Revis during his six-year career with the New York Jets. Barron, the seventh overall pick in 2012, will wear No. 23.
Per NFL rules, teammates must negotiate between each other for the exchange of a number. The two had been in talks since Revis, a four-time Pro Bowl player, was signed to a six-year, $96 million deal April 21. Barron, an Alabama product, had 88 tackles with one interception as a rookie. Now, he’ll enter his second season with a new look.
It's official: Darrelle Revis will wear #24. Mark Barron is going to make #23 a number opponents will remember. More: bit.ly/ZFBbKO
