Let's get to today's interesting facts, using DraftKings prices.
Five Things to Watch:
1.Here are the three highest projected over/unders, provided by OddsShark...
SF-COL 12
TOR-NYY 9
CHI-MIL 9
2. Weather: We should be all clear for Wednesday, but check back on Twitter before game time.
3. You down with BvP? Miguel Cabrera is 15-for-41 against Jose Quintana. Buster Posey has a lifetime .902 OPS against Jorge De La Rosa. Melky Cabrera is 15-for-37 against Anibal Sanchez. Freddie Freeman is 14-for-34 with 4 HR against Stephen Strasburg. David Freese is 13-for-25 against Mike Leake. Jason Kipnis is 12-for-25 against Doug Fister. Alex Gordon is 9-for-22 against Kyle Gibson. Jose Abreu is 9-for-17 with 2 HR against Anibal Sanchez.
4. Your three biggest pitching favorites for the night: Stephen Strasburg (-240) against Atlanta, David Price (-240) against the Padres and Carlos Carrasco (-175) against the Astros.
5. Sneaky stack options: The Cubs are on the road and get Matt Garza, who owns a 4.57 ERA and puts runners on at a high rate. If you want to get really sneaky, the Phillies go up against Andrew Cashner, who has been a disaster all year (5.00 ERA, 1.48 WHIP).
Must-Start of the day: Danny Duffy, KC
He's been lights out over his last ten starts, averaging 21.5 DK points per game while striking out nearly a batter per inning. Duffy's matchup against the Twins and tomato can Kyle Gibson bodes well for his chance at another quality start and a win at just $9900.
Deal of the day: Yadier Molina, STL
Hitting .448 with 3 HR over his last seven games and is extremely cheap at just $3300 against a raw pitcher.
Avoid of the day: Gregory Polanco, PIT
He's just 3-for-22 lifetime against Mike Leake.
Stack of the day: Kansas City Royals
The Royals get a matchup with Kyle Gibson, who owns a 5.31 ERA and is allowing opposing hitters to bat .324 against him over his last ten starts. Get your Royals going on Wednesday.
Starting pitchers:
Danny Duffy, KC: "Must-start of the day"
David Price, BOS: This one doesn't require much explanation. Price is in an extreme pitcher's park in San Diego against one of the worst lineups in baseball. Although his strikeout upside hasn't been as high this year, he's still in line to cruise to a dominant win.
Stephen Strasburg, WAS: It's a little risky based on how he pitched before he hit the DL, but a matchup against the hapless Braves is too juicy to pass up. You get a discount on Stras at $10,400, and the strikeout upside can't be beat.
Catchers:
Buster Posey, SF: Buster Posey has a lifetime .902 OPS against Jorge De La Rosa.
Yadier Molina, STL: "Deal of the day"
First basemen:
Miguel Cabrera, DET: Miguel Cabrera is 15-for-41 against Jose Quintana.
Freddie Freeman, ATL: Freddie Freeman is 14-for-34 with 4 HR against Stephen Strasburg.
Second basemen:
Jason Kipnis, CLE: Jason Kipnis is 12-for-25 against Doug Fister.
Rougned Odor, TEX: Hitting .500 with 6 HR over his last seven games.
Third basemen:
David Freese, PIT: David Freese is 13-for-25 against Mike Leake.
Adrian Beltre, TEX: Hitting .407 with 3 HR in his last seven games and has lowest priced pitcher on the board as his matchup.
Shortstops:
Alcides Escobar, KC: Royals stack and hitting .333 over his last seven games.
Elvis Andrus, TEX: Hitting .360 over his last seven and fits with mini Rangers stack.
Outfielders:
Melky Cabrera, CWS: Melky Cabrera is 15-for-37 against Anibal Sanchez.
Alex Gordon, KC: Alex Gordon is 9-for-22 against Kyle Gibson and part of our Royals stack.
Hanley Ramirez, BOS: Hitting .393 with 3 HR over his last seven games.
