FLORIANOPOLIS, Brazil -- Klara Zakopalova of the Czech Republic defeated top-seeded Carla Suarez Navarro of Spain 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 to reach her second consecutive WTA final.

The third-seeded Zakopalova was runner-up at the Rio Open last week and will be going for her third singles title Sunday when she meets Garbine Muguruza of Spain, who cruised into the final by beating Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan 6-2, 6-3.

The 32nd-ranked Zakopalova lost to Muguruza at a tournament in Australia earlier this year, which marked the first WTA singles titles for the 36th-ranked Spaniard.

Zakopalova, who won her first two titles in 2004, has lost her last 12 finals, including to Kurumi Nara of Japan in Rio.
