GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Arizona Coyotes will open and close their 20th season in Arizona on home ice at Gila River Arena.

Their season opener, announced on Monday, will be Saturday, Oct. 15, against the Philadelphia Flyers. They will close out the season with a pair of home games, Thursday, April 6, vs. the Vancouver Canucks and Saturday, April 8, vs. the Minnesota Wild.

All told, 14 of the Coyotes' 41 home games will be on Saturday night. They will have a five-day midseason break from Jan. 8-12.

Vancouver and the Stanley Cup finalist San Jose Sharks will visit Glendale three times apiece. Anaheim, Calgary, Colorado, Edmonton, Los Angeles, Nashville, St. Louis and Winnipeg will visit twice.

Sidney Crosby and the Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins will make their lone Glendale appearance on Saturday, Feb. 11.

Other highlights include the New York Rangers on  Thursday, Dec. 29; Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday, Feb. 2; Montreal Canadiens on Thursday, Feb. 9; Detroit Red Wings on Thursday, March 16; and Washington Capitals on Friday, March 31.

The second stretches from Jan. 21 to Feb. 2 and features games against Tampa Bay, Florida, Vancouver, Los Angeles and Chicago.
