Cowboys legend Daryl Johnston: Keep Manziel out of Dallas

Published Jan. 7, 2016 4:22 p.m. ET

Johnny Manziel to the Dallas Cowboys? One of the franchise's legends hopes not.

Three-time Super Bowl champion Daryl "Moose" Johnston thinks it would be a terrible idea.

"It's not because of the talent and it's not because of the style of play," he told TMZ Sports. "He's still making some poor choices out there."

Manziel made headlines this week for his night in Las Vegas while wearing a disguise to avoid being recognized.

Despite spending his first two years in the NFL in Cleveland, Manziel has always been able to find a place to party.

"If you're in Dallas, you don't have to go far to get into trouble," Johnston said. "I think he needs to grow and mature a little bit. I just don't think the fit in Dallas is the right time in his career."

Tony Romo is still the quarterback of the Cowboys, but will we see Manziel on the Dallas sideline next season?

"You never know with this organization and especially the way Jerry Jones felt about him," Johnston said. "I would hope not."
