Collin McHugh's kryptonite

The Astros' Collin McHugh has been one of the great stories of the past two years. A waiver claim from the Rockies before the 2014 season, McHugh has gone 15-10 with a 2.90 ERA and 3.25 FIP over 32 starts with Houston.

Prior to Tuesday's outing, McHugh had not suffered a loss in his past 16 starts, dating back to Aug. 1, 2014. In those 16 starts, McHugh had gone 11-0, his team 14-2.

McHugh and the Astros lost on Tuesday night to the Giants, 8-1 -- a loss we probably should have seen coming.

As good as McHugh has been, he has an incredibly odd set of splits. In 20 games (14 starts) versus National League teams, McHugh has never recorded a win. He is 0-11 with a 7.01 ERA. When facing American League opponents over his career, McHugh has gone 15-7 with a 2.69 ERA in 27 starts.

Coincidence? It has to be, but I'm thinking McHugh might not be a proponent of adding the DH to the National League.
