Coffey activated from DL
LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers Monday reinstated right-handed pitcher Todd Coffey from the 15-day disabled list. Coffey had been on the disabled list with right knee inflammation since April 14.
The 31-year-old right-handed reliever has appeared in three games for the Dodgers this season, giving up four runs in 1.0 inning. Coffey pitched for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga in a two-game rehabilitation stint on Wednesday and Friday, allowing one run and three hits in 2.0 innings for the Quakes. The North Carolina native was signed as a free agent in February after going 5-1 with a 3.62 ERA in 69 games for the Washington Nationals last season.
Following the game yesterday, the Dodgers optioned right-handed pitcher Nathan Eovaldi to Double-A Chattanooga. Eovaldi was on the active roster for three days and did not appear in a contest.
