Matt Barnes has been fined $25,000 by the NBA for kicking a water bottle into the stands and swearing, which was directed toward Wizards fans.

The incident took place with 2:09 left in the fourth quarter of the Clippers' road loss in Washington D.C. at the Verizon Center. The Clippers lost to the Wizards, 104-96, which snapped a nine-game win streak by the Clippers.

A fan and Barnes were engaging in trash talk near the end of the game, according to reports from Friday's game.

The NBA described the fine was for "kicking a water bottle into the stands and directing profane language at fans."
