Indiana was without Mr. Basketball and Purdue signee Caleb Swanigan, who was attending training camp for the U-19 U.S. National team in Colorado. Kentucky was without its Mr. Basketball winner because of a commitment at Vanderbilt.

Jalen Perry, a Middle Tennessee State signee, and Dwayne Sutton (UNC-Ashville) led Kentucky with 16 points each and Evan Hall (IUPUI) added 12.
