Clemson reportedly is close to finalizing a new contract with football coach Dabo Swinney.

The deal is expected to be for six years, ESPN reported Friday.

Swinney should receive a raise from the $1.9 million he is scheduled to make this year.

He has a 25-16 record in three seasons. The Tigers were 10-4 last season after losing 70-33 to West Virginia on Jan. 4.

Coming to Clemson in December 2008, Swinney replaced Tommy Bowden and
signed five-year contract. Bowden resigned after 9 1/2 seasons at the
South Carolina school
