NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- Cameron Clark had his total arsenal on display. The Oklahoma senior scored from all over the court as the Sooners defeated Arkansas-Little Rock 101-81 Friday at Lloyd Noble Center.
Coming off the tough loss to No. 1 Michigan state, the Sooners were craving to get back on the winning path. Clark did everything possible to make sure that took place with 22 points and eight rebounds against the Trojans.
Oklahoma held a 23-point lead before Will Neighbour helped the Trojans cut the deficit to 11 by scoring in the paint and going to the free throw line.
But the Sooners had a response each time. Whether it was a Jordan Woodard 3-pointer or a fast break layup off a turnover, OU was back up by 17 at the 7 minute mark in the second half.
That would be as close as UALR would get the rest of the game as Oklahoma cruised down the stretch.
Clark shot 8 for 18 from the field, including four 3-pointers to lead the Sooners (5-1). Jordan Woodard added 16.
The Trojans (2-4) were paced by Neighbour, who had 16 points. Josh Hagins chipped in with 12.
The Trojans came out running against the Sooners early. Leroy Isler had 9 points in the opening four minutes as he took advantage of Oklahoma's zone defense.
Oklahoma fell in love with the long distance shot in the first half as they didn't hesitate to hoist shots from behind the arc. As a team they finished the first half 7 for 13 from 3-point range.
But it was the Sooners constant pressure when they pushed the tempo on fast breaks that led to a 22-9 run to give OU a 34-23 advantage with 8 minutes left in the first half.
