Cincinnati Bearcats schedule kickoff vs. Virginia Tech
CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati football team and Virginia Tech will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 from FedEx Field in Landover, Md., the BIG EAST Conference office and ESPN announced Sunday morning. The game will be televised on ESPNU and air locally on 102.7 WEBN FM. Cincinnati is 2-0 and coming off its second bye week in the first four weeks of the season. UC has a BIG EAST Conference victory over Pittsburgh and a win over Delaware State under its belt in 2012. Virginia Tech is 3-1 on the season, coming off a 37-0 win at home over Bowling Green Saturday that saw the Hokies rush for a season-high 246 yards. UC and Virginia Tech have met nine times on the gridiron with the Hokies holding a 5-4 advantage in the all-time series after winning the past two contests. The series in neutral site games is tied at one win apiece. The two squads last met in the 2009 FedEx Orange Bowl with Virginia Tech earning a 20-7 win. The previous neutral site matchup took place in the 1946 Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas, an 18-6 UC win. The game marks the Bearcats' initial visit to FedExField, while it will be the third trip for Virginia Tech, joining a 2004 contest with Southern California and a 2012 matchup with Boise State.
