Chris Johnson Rises: The NFL's Dark Knight
What Adrian Peterson did last season was incredible. The type of athletic feat that left us all certain he was football's Superman. Before Peterson put up a remarkable 2,097 yards (following ACL surgery!) in 2012, Chris Johnson ran for 2,006 yards in 2009.
Those are heroic numbers for a running back, and he's cracked the 1,000+ yard mark in each of his 5 NFL seasons. Still, Johnson has hit the 2,000 yard milestone just the once. Well, after watching what Peterson did last season, the time has come for CJ2K to show us what he's got once again. Recently he was on record claiming he will, in fact, get there again.
So, with nothing higher than 1,364 yards in 2010, where has our hero been? Well, much like the Caped Crusader after he defeated the Joker in the 'Dark Knight Rises', CJ2K has been missing. Absent from our consciousness, giving way to stars (Peterson), studs (Arian Foster) and upstarts (Alfred Morris).
Will he return? Does CJ2K still exist?
There are no Jokers in the AFC South. Actually, there is no Bane in the NFL whatsoever. But it's time for CJ2K to return. We're ready for him to rise.
