Chip Caray remembers his father

I love this picture of my Dad.  It truly captures the essence of his personality.

This is the picture I see every day I walk into the Skip Caray Broadcast booth at Turner Field.  Can't you just see the sarcastic, wry smile?

Dad passed away at home 4 years ago today.

How lucky I am to see that smile every day at the ballpark! How lucky I am to hear the hundreds of "Skip stories" that friends and fans have told and retold over the years!  They never grow old!

While you all knew Dad as a baseball broadcaster, I'll always remember him for so much more. Friend, confidante, Grandfather, driving instructor, martini master, husband, father, bird watcher, reader, amateur gardener, Law and Order fan, and DOT critic. Baseball was what Dad did, but was just a small part of who he was.

And that's what I miss the most.

Thank you again for remembering my Dad.  I know I'll never forget him either.

Until next time....
