Cher, Wiz Khalifa show support to UFC welterweight Nick Diaz
The campaign to get Nick Diaz's suspension lifted continues with the UFC welterweight now gaining support from rapper Wiz Khalifa and Cher.
Yes, you read that correctly -- Cher is throwing support behind Diaz via her Twitter account and her 2.85 million followers.
She released the message late Sunday night while also tweeting out the link to the petition, which is trying to get an official response from the White House regarding Diaz's five-year suspension after he allegedly used marijuana following his fight against Anderson Silva at UFC 183 in January.

The petition currently has more than 67,000 signatures, but it will take almost 33,000 more by Oct. 16 to land a response from the White House.
While Cher used Twitter to give her support, a far less surprising celebrity who also took time to give Diaz a shout-out this weekend was rapper Wiz Khalifa.
While on tour recently, one of Khalifa's friends took a short Instagram video where the rapper, who is well known for his support of the legalization of marijuana, wants to "free Nick Diaz".
Diaz and his attorneys are planning an appeal to the decision to hopefully overturn or at least lessen the damage done, which currently serves as almost a death sentence to his fighting career with a five -ear ban.
