Charles replaces Bravo in West Indies' World T20 squad
ST. JOHN'S, Antigua (AP) Johnson Charles was picked by the West Indies for its World Twenty20 squad on Saturday as the replacement for Darren Bravo, who withdrew to focus on test cricket.
Charles, a top-order batsman who can also keep wicket, was a member of the team which won the World T20 in 2012 in Sri Lanka. He has played in 23 T20s.
He completed the squad, after three of the original 15 selected pulled out. Allrounder Carlos Brathwaite replaced an injured Kieron Pollard, and offspinner Ashley Nurse replaced Sunil Narine, who was still to correct his technique.
The West Indies, leaving for India in two weeks, is in Group 1 of the Super 10 stage with England, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and a qualifier yet to be determined.
