Chargers sign tackle Mario Henderson
The San Diego Chargers signed their 15th unrestricted free agent of 2012, inking former Oakland Raiders tackle Mario Henderson to a one-year contract.
The 6-7, 300-pound Henderson spent four seasons with the Raiders (2007-10) after being selected in the third round of the '07 NFL Draft. He played in 44 games and started 28 at left tackle.
Henderson spent the 2011 season with the Colorado Ice of the Indoor Football League after his release by the Raiders.
He is projected to provide depth at both tackle positions.
Henderson becomes the 15th unrestricted free agent signed by the Chargers since free agency opened. He joins DE Luis Castillo, DT Antonio Garay, T Jared Gaither, OLB Jarrett Johnson, FB Le'Ron McClain, WR Robert Meachem, WR-KRs Eddie Royal, Roscoe Parrish and Michael Spurlock, SS Atari Bigby, QB Charlie Whitehurst, and TEs Randy McMichael, Kory Sperry and Dante Rosario. The list does not include C Nick Hardwick and LB Demorrio Williams, who both signed immediately before free agency began.
Also on Friday, restricted free agent guard-tackle Brandyn Dombrowski and exclusive rights free agent long snapper Mike Windt both signed their one-year contract tenders.
