Chad Johnson arrested on probation violation

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 10:03 p.m. ET

Hey, remember when a Florida judge issued an arrest warrant for former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson? Well, he's been arrested now. Johnson was arrested on Monday morning and has been charged with a probation violation stemming from a domestic violence incident with his ex-wife Evelyn Lozada. Apparently, Johnson failed to meet with his probation officer, which prompted the arrest warrant. Johnson will remain in custody until he posts $1,000 bond. That shouldn't be a problem ... or will it? TMZ reported a few days ago that Johnson recently filed court documents stating that he can't afford the $5,420 in montly child support payments he pays to Andrea Pearson, the mother of one of his children. He apparently agreed to the deal when he was still earning an NFL salary, which is something that is unlikely to come to him anytime soon, if ever again. Sorry guys, this just makes us sad. UPDATE: Johnson posted bail on Monday and was released. According to a report from the Los Angeles Times, Johnson is set for a court hearing on June 3. Questions? Comments?
