Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving will miss Wednesday's game against the Toronto Raptors with a sore/hyperextended right knee, team officials said.
Irving missed Tuesday's win in Chicago with the same injury. He had an MRI on Monday to confirm the injury was nothing more than a hyperextension.
The reigning Rookie of the Year has missed 13 games this season because of injuries. The other 11 came courtesy of a broken finger in late November/early December.
Irving reportedly bumped the knee at practice prior to the Cavs' 118-94 win Saturday in Orlando. He was running gingerly for parts of that game. It also bothered him the next night in Miami during a 109-105 loss.
He is averaging team-highs in points (23.3), assists (5.6) and steals (1.6). Shaun Livingston is again expected to start in his place.
In related news, Cavs guard Daniel Gibson will rejoin the team after missing the previous three games due to a personal matter.
