Cavs announce summer camps
The Cavaliers' basketball camps for kids will tip off June 9. Throughout the summer, the camp will travel to 17 destinations around Northeast Ohio. Cavs forward Tristan Thompson will make a special appearance at the Baldwin Wallace University camp that runs July 6-10.
The camps are part of the NBA's National Basketball Academy. According to a Cavs press release: "Campers will be teamed up by age, skill and gender when possible, ranging in ages from 7-16 years old. The camp curriculum will feature skill development stations such as shot mechanics, ball handling, passing, defense and rebounding. Campers' progress will be tested by daily skill competitions, 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 games, and each camp will feature guest speakers to engage and motivate the youngsters. Participants will receive a personal basketball, wristband, t-shirt, complimentary ticket to a 2014-15 regular season Cavs game and a chance to be part of a unique game-day experience."
