Carr looking forward to facing Bucs' Jackson
IRVING – Playing four seasons in the AFC West allowed Brandon Carr to line up opposite of Vincent Jackson on several occasions.
Both players have departed the division, but they will meet again Sunday when Tampa Bay travels to Cowboys Stadium.
"I remember him," Carr joked Wednesday. "It looks like he's picking up where he left off in San Diego. Just from my first hand experiences with Vincent Jackson, he's a big, fast, physical receiver. I'm going to have my work cut out for me the whole 60 minutes."
Jackson, who signed a five-year, $55.55 million contract with the Buccaneers in March, is 6-5, 230 pounds. He had three 1,000-yard seasons during his seven years in San Diego.
Through his first two games with Tampa Bay, Jackson has nine receptions for 175 yards and a touchdown.
Compared to the receivers Carr defends in practice – Dez Bryant and Miles Austin – Carr says Jackson's style is different.
"Off the line of scrimmage, he's more physical, more of a bully so to speak," Carr said. "When the ball goes up, it's either he's catching it or the opposite, nobody's catching it."
And that's exactly the type of wide receiver that Carr prefers.
"I like checking big receivers," Carr said. "It should be a good matchup for me, a good test. I'm ready for the challenge. I can't wait for Sunday to get here."
