Cards sign all 2016 draft picks from rounds one through 10
The St. Louis Cardinals have signed five more players from their 2016 draft class -- including second round pick RHP Connor Jones and third round pick RHP Zac Gallen -- in addition to two non-drafted free agents. According to the Cardinals, left-handed pitcher John Kilichowski (11th round), shortstop Brady Whalen (12th round), right-handed pitcher Eric Carter (26th round) and free agents Yariel Gonzalez and Anthony Shew have all agreed to terms and have passed physicals.
This means the Cardinals have signed all 12 of their draft picks from the first 10 rounds. Overall, they've signed 32 of their 42 draft picks and six non-drafted free agents.
The Cardinals have until July 15 at 4:00 p.m. central time to sign players from the 2016 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
