Cards send four players to minors; Hazelbaker remains with club

Outfielder Jeremy Hazelbaker continues to impress.

The St. Louis Cardinals announced today that they assigned four non-roster players -- pitcher Juan Gonzalez, catcher Eric Fryer, infielder Jacob Wilson and outfielder Carlos Peguero -- to minor league camp. That leaves 30 players in major league camp, including Hazelbaker, the only remaining non-roster invitee.

Hazelbaker batted .304 with three homers and 10 RBIs this spring. An injury to new shortstop Ruben Tejada opened a roster spot, and for the first time in his career Hazelbaker, 28, will be a major leaguer.

The Cardinals' spring roster now stands at 15 pitchers, two catchers, eight infielders and five outfielders (one non-roster).
