The Cardinals on Thursday re-signed nose tackle Alameda Ta'amu to a one-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Ta'amu, a restricted free agent, played in 14 games with three starts last year after the Cardinals claimed him off waivers from the Steelers prior to the season. The 6-foot-3, 348-pounder, who primarily backed up starter Dan Williams, had 13 tackles, including three for loss, and added two quarterback pressures in his first season in Arizona, which ended with a torn ACL in the Cardinals' season finale against the 49ers.

Because of the injury, his availability for training camp and the start of the season is unclear.

Ta'amu, 23, spent his rookie season with the Steelers in 2012 after being selected in the fourth round (109th overall) of the NFL Draft out of Washington.
