Cardinals fans defy stereotype
In virtually any
survey or measure of national interest among NFL fans, the Arizona
Cardinals rank near or at the bottom.
But at least
Cardinal fans can rest assured that they defy stereotypes. In a
sometimes humorous take, the NOC, an entertainment channel about the
personalities and lives of athletes, attempted to capture the essence of
each NFL city’s fans.
Check that: 31 of the NFL’s 32
cities. Guess who's missing? At one point late in the production, the
impressions stop and the words “Arizona Cardinals fan” appear without
the corresponding stereotype.
So should we take this
as a compliment? As an uninformed suggestion that Arizona doesn’t have
fans, despite the club’s consecutive sellout streak that encompasses its
entire tenure at University of Phoenix Stadium? Or should we simply
view it as another slight to our
relevance?
