COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Max Pacioretty scored two power-play goals, and P.K. Subban added another -- all in a span of 3:53 of the third period -- to lead the Montreal Canadiens to a 3-2 comeback victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday night.
Carey Price made 14 saves, and Andrei Markov had two assists for the Canadiens, who have earned points in eight of nine games and 11 of 13.
Ryan Johansen scored a third-period, power-play goal to extend his career-best point streak to 11 games. Kevin Connauton also had a goal for Columbus on its first shot of the game. Sergei Bobrovsky made 28 saves and lost his shutout bid with 8 minutes remaining.
The Canadiens, who had seven power plays, scored on three consecutive advantages in the third period to overcome a 2-0 deficit. They came in ranked 28th in the NHL on the power play.
With Matt Calvert off for slashing, Pacioretty took a feed from Brendan Gallagher in the high slot, pivoted and whistled a shot past Bobrovsky with 8:30 remaining.
Just 2:56 later, this time with Jared Boll off for high sticking, the Canadiens cycled the puck to Subban at the left point. His one-timer -- with Bobrovsky's view obstructed by David Desharnais -- tied it at 2.
Soon after that, Brandon Dubinsky was called for boarding. Tomas Plekanec's entry pass was redirected in by Pacioretty from the right hash to give the Canadiens their first lead.
The Canadiens had controlled play for most of the game, yet they trailed 2-0.
Despite being outshot 12-6 in opening period, the Blue Jackets took the early lead. At even strength 3:31 in, Connauton's low, hard shot from the left point appeared to redirect off a Montreal skate to elude Price.
An instant before the shot, a delayed penalty was called when Jeremy Morin was hooked by Andrei Markov as he carried the puck along the end boards. Morin then dropped a pass to Connauton for his seventh goal.
Bobrovsky twice robbed Pacioretty early, smothering a backhander and then a point-blank shot from the left doorstep.
The Canadiens almost broke through at 14:59. From a sharp angle, and with Gallagher providing traffic, Plekanec flipped the puck at the net. Bobrovsky got a piece of it, but the puck tumbled down his right leg and toward the far post. While face down on the ice, he swung his left leg to slide the puck away just as it was crossing the goal line. After a lengthy review, it was ruled no-goal.
