Cameron out, Dansby doubtful against Atlanta

BEREA, Ohio - The Cleveland Browns got Pro Bowl tight end Jordan Cameron back on the practice field but won't have Cameron for Sunday's game at the Atlanta Falcons.

The Browns probably won't have their best linebacker, Karlos Dansby, either. Dansby didn't practice all week due to a sprained knee and is listed as doubtful.

Besides Cameron, the Browns will go without kickoff returner Marlon Moore (hamstring). Starting outside linebacker Jabaal Sheard (foot) got his first limited work of the week Friday and is listed as questionable.

"It was good to get (Cameron) out there, but we obviously just declared him out," Browns coach Mike Pettine said. "We're hopeful where he is at this point that we'll have him for next week."

Cameron hasn't played since suffering a concussion in late October. Getting him back for next week's game against the Bills would be a further boost for an offense that gets 2013 NFL receiving champion Josh Gordon back from suspension this week.

The defense could use some reinforcements, too. Dansby and Sheard were injured in last week's loss to the Texans, which came two days after the Browns put starting defensive end Phil Taylor on injured-reserve. Barkevious Mingo would start in Sheard's place if he can't go.

Pettine wouldn't rule out Sheard playing but said it could be Saturday or even Sunday morning before the Browns know for sure.

"I think Mingo is ready to go," Pettine said. "He's gotten the vast majority of the reps in practice. I know we're prepared to go that way, and I think we've built it that whatever reps that we get from Jabaal would be more of a luxury than a necessity."

Pettine said he doesn't know anything more about the possibility of next week's game being moved from Buffalo due to the snow that moved this week's Bills-Jets game to Detroit.

The Falcons list starting cornerback Robert Alford as out but have talented players Julio Jones and Steven Jackson listed as probable after they missed time earlier in the week due to illness.
