Bucks unveil interior renderings of new arena

May 5, 2016

The Milwaukee Bucks unveiled a set of interior renderings for their new downtown arena Thursday, showcasing proposed designs for the main concourse along the south side of the arena, an event-level club near the Bucks' tunnel, a concourse-level bar with views to the court and the "panorama club" at the top of the bowl.

The team wants the main concourses to facilitate easy navigation throughout the building and features plenty of natural light as well as views of the surrounding cityscape. It is planning vaulted ceilings and exposed upper concourses to provide a sense of continuity between all levels of the arena.

The Bucks envision the club space giving fans an area to social during events. The team will have the concourse-level bar and "panorama club" accessible to all fans, providing them the opportunity to socialize outside of the bowl while watching on-court action.

The 714,000 square-foot arena will be home to Milwaukee Bucks basketball and other sports and entertainment events, such as hockey games, end stage and center stage concerts, family shows, circuses, ice events and open-floor exhibitions.

The Bucks tapped Populous to lead a group of global, national and local architects for the project, including Wisconsin-based firms Eppstein Uhen and HNTB. The public groundbreaking event is scheduled for Saturday, June 18, with construction scheduled to be completed in time for the start of the 2018-19 NBA season.
