The Milwaukee Bucks have signed 38-year-old NBA veteran Jason Terry, the team announced on Monday.

Terry has spent the last two seasons with the Houston Rockets, and played in 72 games last season while averaging 5.9 points, 1.4 assists and 1.1 rebounds per game.

"He'll be an invaluable resource for our young group as we continue to develop into a championship-caliber team on and off the court, and he's still one of the best shooters in the game who can help stretch the floor for us," Bucks GM John Hammond said in a statement. "We're thrilled to welcome him to Milwaukee."

Terry has averaged 14.3 points, 4.1 assists and 2-4 rebounds per game over the course of his 17-year NBA career, appearing in 1,285 games.

Selected by the Atlanta Hawks in the 1999 NBA Draft, Terry spent the first five seasons of his career there before being traded to the Dallas Mavericks.

Terry spent eight seasons in Dallas, winning an NBA Championship in 2011, before settling in Houston following short stints with the Boston Celtics and the Brooklyn Nets.
